Liberty Classical Academy was founded by a group of parents who were seeking a school which would provide both academic excellence and a Christian worldview for their children. They were particularly excited about classical Christian education, but the closest such school (Schaeffer Academy) was in Rochester, MN. The decision was made to pursue the founding of a classical Christian school which would be patterned after those classical Christian schools which already exist. The school was to be located on the east side of the Twin Cities, providing an outstanding educational option for families from the entire east metro region.
